brows are life

i always get a lot of questions about how i do my brows. they’re usually framed within a compliment and tbh i think brow compliments are some of the best compliments to receive. they’re also my most received compliment which is why i could look like a hot mess but as long as my brows have their sh*t together, i’m okay. so today i’ll be frantically ranting about my brows and products that i would be nothing without.

to start, i don’t have naturally fleek and full brows. my brows do not have the “i woke up like this” look. sorry not sorry if you don’t like beyonce and hate me for using that reference. back to the point. i had full brows when i was young, like i literally had a unibrow by the time i was 10. and back in the day my sister would get hers threaded so i went with her because i wanted to be cool and do what she was doing.

after years of threading, i ended up with sparse af brows. so by high school, i stopped threading and just tweezed. and unfortunately, by college, i found myself getting too tweezer-happy at night while i was having anxious existential crises and next thing i knew i’d have made a big mistake. fast forward, my brows have come a long way with tweezer self-control, but i’m still not comfortable without filling them in. i feel naked without them y’all. which is why i decided to try this brow serum  to see if it would help. after using this and the lash serum for about a month, i noticed fullness in both my brows and lashes. (side note: if you read my last blog about makeup favs, you know my lashes need all the help they can get) so if you’ve been looking for a solution to thin brows and lashes, and you’re like me and don’t want to go the microblading and/or lash extension route (not that there’s anything wrong with either of those) i highly recommend these serums!

now onto the products that i could not achieve any of my brow fleekness without. anastasia beverly hills has some of the most hyped brow products – and for a good reason. it’s like you’re either an abh or benefit brow girl. there’s nothing wrong with benefit but there was one time i ran out of my abh brow wiz and ulta didn’t have my shade (i’m overdramatic so honestly this was one of the worst days ever) so i was desperate and decided to try the benefit precisely my brow pencil. let’s just say it was just a brow pencil rebound until i could reunite with my tried-and-true abh.

i use the abh brow wiz (dark brown) to comb and fill in my brows, and because i’m extra af, i spend the extra money to also have the brow definer because i prefer its brush to blend afterward. i always aim for a natural looking brow, but sometimes i guess i forget that because i’ll readily admit there are times my brows are bolder than they should be and i’m like who do i think i am. this is why a light hand and the brush/spooley are my best friends. as much as i need my brow wiz for my brows to thrive, they would be nothing without the loreal brow stylist plumper (medium/dark) that helps add volume and set my brows in place. these brows do not f-ing move and regularly survive through hot yoga classes and five hour drunk couch naps. the problem is, loreal has decided to break my heart and discontinue this for a new design/brush and i am not okay. PSA to all brands: IF IT AIN’T BROKE DON’T FIX IT. brands discontinuing my holy grail products is why i have trust issues lolz.

in conclusion, i dedicate my life to these brow products. i’ll spend the $20 again and again and again for the brow wiz because it is that good. my brows are always the first step in my routine because my theory is if for whatever reason i suddenly had to run out of my apartment before finishing getting ready, i wouldn’t mind as long as my brows were done. hope you enjoyed this long af post about brows ok love y’all bye!
