a love affair with briogeo hair products

remember that time i told ya’ll i have really dry hair? if not, well, my hair is dry as in only-wash-it-two-times-a-week-because-no-oil-ever-exists-on-my-scalp level dry. today’s post is dedicated to my favorite haircare products which so happen to mostly be from the brand briogeo. this brand has infiltrated my bathroom/shower and i am not mad about it. this is a sulfate-free, silicone-free, paraben-free, everything else that apparently isn’t the best for your hair-free brand. i’d like to give a shoutout to my favorite beauty youtuber kathleenlights for influencing me to try this brand in the first place. i started purchasing briogeo off of her recommendations in this video and have never looked back.

lol at me in the background #hi

you might think that these products are a little excessive. well, i’m here to tell you that you’re probs right because i have become extra af when it comes to my hair. it’s thick, frizzy, kinda wavy but kinda straight, and overall mostly a mess (shout out to humidity). i have always struggled with how to handle my hair. i remember hating my thick hair as a kid and desperately wishing i had that naturally straight asian hair that has never known a frizzy day in its life. but alas, that is not the hair i have been blessed with. so i’m here to tell you that after YEARS of trying different brand shampoos/conditioners, it’s possible to find a brand that works. so since i’m frantic and am not really sure what this post is other than an announcement about my obsession with briogeo, here’s a hair routine/product review of sorts.

i should start by letting y’all know that i don’t use all of these products at one time. that would be silly. i switch it up every time i wash my hair just based on what i think my hair needs and also to keep my life a little exciting. i’ll mix the rosarco shampoo with the deep conditioning mask one day, and another day i’ll use the exfoliating shampoo with the rosarco conditioner. if you’re someone who uses a lot of product and feel like you really need to clean the sh*t out of your hair, this coconut charcoal exfoliating shampoo is for you. don’t let its dark gray color intimidate you. this stuff makes your scalp feel great and smells like mint chocolate chip ice cream which is definitely not coconut but whatever, it’s hella refreshing. there’s a reason they call it scalp revival – it might just revive your hair and your life.

i don’t know how to explain the scent of the rosarco shampoo or the don’t despair, repair conditioning mask and spray other than it’s like love and happiness and success and a hug in a bottle/jar. the deep conditioning mask instantly makes hair smooth and silky. i leave it in for about 5 minutes and can already feel a difference when i’m rinsing it out. as for the rosarco conditioner, i don’t know how they did it, but it smells like you’re at the beach/pool with a pina colada. it smells more like coconut than the exfoliating mint chocolate chip ice cream. every time i use the rosarco conditioner i literally stop to take in the scent a few times before actually applying it.

although these products are amazing, my hair is so complicated that i need a good post-shower product as well. here’s where the don’t despair, repair leave-in spray comes in. my only complaint about this product is that i have no idea why it’s in a spray bottle or why it’s considered a spray in general because it literally just squirts out more of a cream. this is why if you ever use this, it could be a real mess if you spray it directly onto your hair because it won’t be evenly distributed and might leave your hair feeling sticky. i’ve found that the best way to use this is to spray it in your hands first and then apply it to yo hairz.

so that’s the story on my current favorite hair products. as someone who finds washing my hair to be an incredible and inconvenient task requiring mental and emotional preparation (wow i’m dramatic), these products make the process exciting and, dare i say, enjoyable. not to mention the packaging of all their products are so cute and brighten up my shower. these are definitely a bit of a splurge but it’s worth it. i’ve come to terms with the fact that good haircare products are worth the monies. hope you enjoyed this and have been inspired to check out the brand, there’s so much more to them than what i mentioned in this post. ok happy saturday thanks for reading love ya’ll!
