can you be in love with your hand cream? asking for a friend

what better time to talk about my favorite dry hand remedy than the period of winter when you’re totally over it and can’t wait for summer?! i’m one of those people who always gets those little tiny cuts on the edges of my fingertips (if you know, you know) which are so d*mn painful and really just make life harder than it already is. my skin is so dry that i feel like it just absorbs whatever moisture i add to it and i could continue putting on lotion or moisturizer and it would never be too much. so it is for this reason that i’m super picky about my lotions/creams. i’m not even sure what i was doing with my life before i started using this hand cream. so here’s a short post, essentially more of a shout out, to this soap and glory body cream.

i discovered this lotion one day when i was at ulta, specifically on a mission to find a new hand cream to keep in my desk at work. i wash my hands a lot and they feel like the desert if i don’t use lotion after every time i wash them. and part of me was just feeling like other lotions weren’t good enough e.g. jergens, aveeno, etc. not that there’s anything wrong with them, but i just needed more moisture. so as i was perusing the aisles, i stumbled upon the soap and glory aisle. i’ve never tried anything from this brand prior to purchasing this, nor did i think about purchasing it based on any recommendations from social media or youtube.

i opened the tub to check if i liked the scent and tbh i hated the way it smelled at first. i think the scent had to grow on me which seems to be the case with me and almond scents. i can never quite decide if i like it at first. i bought the lotion anyway to give it a chance which was quite a risk because this delicious tub is $15. and i’ve never regretted it since. the best part is you can use your ulta coupon for it – yay for those $3.50 off coupons that come with the ulta flier magazine things every month!

you can tell mine is very loved

i ended up loving this cream so much that i bought another one to keep at my apartment in addition to keeping the original at work. i use this sh*t religiously and can always tell a difference when i wash my hands and don’t use this cream. it smells so warm and comforting and on stressful work days, it’s honestly very soothing. not to mention the formula and texture. they don’t call it a buttercream for nothing. it truly feels so soft and buttery without making your hands (or wherever you’ve applied it) feel gross and icky and oily. this cream is so good it might even solve other problems more important than dry skin. bold claim, i know.

so that’s the 411 on this cream. you can also find it at cvs if you happen to be doing some shopping there and don’t necessarily find yourself at ulta. if you’ve been searching for a new cream, or are feeling like your current one isn’t meeting all your winter dry skin needs, this cream is where it’s at. (btw i also use this in the summer) i promise that your body will thank you for blessing it with this buttery goodness!
