hi everyone! sorry for my blog absence last weekend, but i’m back today and i wanna talk to y’all about my favorite setting sprays! is it just me or do i somehow end up blogging on rainy saturdays recently?! i don’t know about you guys, but i’m ready for pool weather and outdoor patio season.
i wanna start off by saying that for awhile, i was never really into foundation and setting spray. i was like a primer and bb cream kinda girl. so when i first started watching youtube beauty videos and delving further into the world of makeup, i was alerted to the fact that people wear setting spray to set their makeup when they’re done. it’s like hairspray, but for your face. what?! so i decided to try it out.
my first love was the milani setting spray which i likely purchased on the recommendation of my fav youtuber kathleenlights. i can’t say enough good things about this spray. it has a wonderful mist, smells gorgeous – almost like perfume but not too overpowering, and as the name suggests, makes your make lasttttttttt. on days when i’m wearing makeup all day, this spray is the move my friends. this is the spray that i swear by when i’m not only wearing makeup all day, but also in the summer when i’m sitting outside in 100 degree weather eating fries and drinking cocktails (speaking of patio season) it’s magical.
i love the milani spray so much that for the longest time, i didn’t think i needed to venture out into the rest of the setting spray world. i was really content to just use this for the rest of my life. it’s super cute, easy to travel around with, and did i mention it smells like perfume so you feel like a new person when you use it?! but guys. GUYS. everyone raves about this morphe setting spray so one day i caved in and purchased it at ulta to try.
the first time i tried it, i wasn’t impressed. and because i wasn’t impressed that it didn’t live up to all the hype i heard about it on youtube, i was disappointed af. so i didn’t use it for awhile and it probs sat in my makeup graveyard, emphasizing the fact that the milani spray is the answer to all setting spray needs. but one day something in my soul told me that i needed to give it another chance, but this time, spray more on my face because the mist is soooooo fine that you really need the extra oomph.
well, let’s just say the morphe spray wouldn’t have made it on this blog if that trick didn’t end up working and resulting in me falling in absolute love with it. now i can’t choose between these two, they’re equally my favorites. if i know i’m only wearing my makeup for a few hours and/or there is no heat or sweating involved, i’ll go with the morphe. i would say it makes me look more dewy and glowy which, if you’ve tuned into my other blogs or you know me personally, I’M ALL ABOUT THAT GLOWY LIFE. this also smells like perfume in the non-overpowering way.
i know there are a ton of other popular sprays out there e.g. urban decay all nighter, mac fix+, but don’t miss out on these two gems. they’re both affordable and can be found at ulta. tbh my makeup would be sh*t without them. a great setting spray truly just completes a look and seals all your hard work in. with all that being said, if you’re down to try a different setting spray, give these a try!
