hello and happy saturday homies!!!! can y’all believe it’s already the middle of june?! i’ve already been enjoying patio/outdoor time and i cannot wait to get my a$$ to the pool when it’s warm enough! i’m over here wondering when we’re going to have enough spring showers. today i’m talking about a couple new products i purchased during this spring’s sephora VIB sale aka one of the best times of the year. there’s no better time to stock up on your fav products and/or try new products than with this sale! i’m a VIB member so i get the 15% off purchase code which is kinda sad compared to other discounts but B*TCH A DISCOUNT CODE IS A DISCOUNT CODE.
because i tend to go a little HAM when i’m buying from sephora (let’s be real i go HAM when it comes to ulta purchases as well, retail therapy AM I RIGHT) i opted to go for a more humble purchase that still was a considerable amount of monies. does the B in VIB stand for bougie??????? because there’s nothing that hurts so bad but also so good at the same time than spending almost $70 for two godd*mn products. but this is where the VIB sale comes in!!! below are the two new products i decided to purchase and take advantage of that 15% off.
i’ve had some time to try both of these products which i wanted to do before blogging about them. i’m a sucker for complexion products and had been wanting to try a tinted moisturizer with SPF for those hot af humid af summer days and nights when i really don’t want to feel like i have a makeup on BUT i still want some coverage. i ain’t trying to go through the rigorous foundation, concealer, and powder steps during the summer!!
i’ve heard a lot of good things about this nars tinted moisturizer so of course i had to try it out for myself. i hesitated for a hot sec because i don’t really use the radiant longwear foundation as much as i should (i’m too in love with the too faced born this way foundation) given the bougie af price BUT tinted moisturizers are different than foundation so i was like YOLO. i really enjoyed this tinted moisturizer from the first time i used it and couldn’t believe how lightweight it felt. i could tell that i had some coverage on my face, i’d say light to almosttttt medium coverage, but it truly felt like i did not have any makeup on. the shade ranges were a little off so i had a little difficulty finding my shade but other than that i give this product an A!
i was suckered into purchasing the jouer high coverage concealer from the recommendation of kathleenlights, my fav beauty influencer. check out her youtube channel here! one of my fav concealers ever is the tarte shape tape. kathleen said that the jouer one was just as good and maybe even better than the tarte. DIS A BOLD CLAIM Y’ALL. while i did enjoy this jouer concealer and plan to continue using it, i can’t say that it’s better than the tarte. the jouer is just a teensy bit less creamy/dewy than the tarte and that creaminess works really well for me because of my dry skin. i can’t complain about the coverage thoooo!
i wanted to add an honorable mention: i’ve been LOVING the hourglass arch brow volumizing gel and although i didn’t purchase it during the sale, it’s definitely worth splurging on whether there’s a sale or not. this brow gel is THE SH*T. with that being said – did y’all splurge during the VIB sale?! let me know what other bougie products i should add to my list to try! i’m more of an online sephora shopper (just stepping into a sephora store sends me into panic mode #FRANTIC) which i think makes it easier to go HAM. i hope you enjoyed this quick haul and review post! ok i’m off to go stuff my face with gluten free pizza now, byeeeeeee!
