what i’ve been loving recently/introducing sundays as the new blog days

hi world! how about that time back at the end of september when i said i’d be back to blogging?! it’s been a busy last month and i was still trying to figure out how i wanted to come back to my blog with better energy and perspective. which is why i’m going to start with changing blog days from saturdays to sundays. i’m thinking this small change will actually make a big difference for me. after a long week at work, it has been feeling like the last thing i want to do on saturday is use my brain to think and write.

i’m also thinking that blogging on sundays could be a good way to fight the sunday scaries. something else that has been crossing my mind has been alternating between written posts and videos, but i have to brainstorm that one more. like me, this blog is v frantic, sorry not sorry! today is going to be review of everything i’ve been loving recently during my blog time off, from beauty to books to tv to candles.

1- this setting spray from colourpop is life-changing!!!!!!! it’s hyaluronic acid and coconut water and MAGIC. i know i’ve said in the past my favorite sprays to set my makeup are the morphe and milani ones (see post here) BUT i’m sorry to say i’ve almost completely turned my back on them for this baby right here. it’s so hydrating and really adds extra glow to your face. the mist is perfect, the bottle is gorg, it’s affordable af, my skin loves it, etc etc etc i could go on for days!

2- this book by a.j. finn was one of the best psychological thrillers i’ve read in a hot minute and that’s important coming from me because psychological thrillers are about all i read. it’s about a woman with agoraphobia who spies on her neighbors for entertainment and gets sucked into the family next door’s drama. it is suspenseful and keeps you going. the ending was satisfying and ends up being a happy ending, which thank god because the woman is miserable most of the book. i was absolutely glued to it while i was reading! definitely recommend for all you thriller/mystery lovers.

3- this past season of stranger things had me staying up waaaaay past my bedtime so i could see what happens next. talk about netflix and chill but substitute chill for deep breaths and relaxation techniques to cope with the suspense. it was definitely not lacking in spookiness/creepiness. not to mention, steve is the love of my life so really the only thing i cared about *spoiler alert* is that no precious hairs on his head were seriously harmed and he survived the season. i was even inspired to dress up as flashlight helmet erica for halloween, which consisted of a $4 children’s helmet from five below and a pair of almost-too-tight overalls from discovery.

4- last but not least, would it even be a blog post from me if i didn’t mention a bath and body works candle?!?! this is one of my fav new additions to my fall candle family. check out my post on all my other fall candles from last year if you haven’t yet! this candle is exactly like it sounds – it’s a wonderful medley of marshmallow and pumpkin. i love the way that marshmallow smells in their candles because it comes through as that toasty s’mores scent. if you love pumpkin and aren’t trying to get a super sweet-scented candle, this one is for you!

so that’s the scoop on some of the things i’ve been enjoying recently! there’s so much more though so i’m thinking a part two is in the near future. also, for anyone struggling with the daylight savings time change, you’re not alone! not sure how one hour can make such a huge difference but here i am, feeling like it’s bedtime at 7pm. it’s offish hibernation szn. i hope y’all enjoyed this post! til next time, friends!!!
