living my best gluten-free life

tis the season for all holiday errthang and the best time of year to eat and drink all the things and not worry about how well (or not well) our pants are fitting because YOLO it’s the holidays!!!!!! *cue nsync merry christmas happy holidays* sorry i haven’t been around these last couple of weekends but i’m here on this lovely sunday afternoon to give y’all an update on my gluten-free life.

if you haven’t already, check out my post on the story of my gluten-free dairy-free life. i’ve come a long way since then so i figured it’s time for an update on all the thangz i’ve discovered since! if you know anything about gluten intolerance, you know it’s pretty hard to have options and it can be difficult not having many options that are both gluten-free AND delicious. well this list is FULLLLLL of GF options that are enjoyable af. my list of tried and true favorites is my christmas gift to the gluten-free world!

first thing’s first, these kind granola clusters are delicious and a super easy option for breakfast and/or a snack. i personally eat these with coffee for breakfast but you can eat them with yogurt or milk or however the f*ck you want. this is my favorite flavor but i also enjoy the peanut butter. shout out to kind for just overall being the real MVP of gluten-free delicious granola snacks. their breakfast squares and chewy granola bars are also legit!

here’s another granola option that doesn’t disappoint! i like these bear naked granola bites because they’re bigger size pieces of granola (hence why they’re called granola bites) but they’re chewy and convenient for taking with you on-the-go. i love this brand and their punny name. the peanut butter flavor is delightful but i also dig the dark chocolate one! these are equally enjoyable and filling.

speaking of punny names, i may or may not have bought this caulipower pizza to try for the first time solely based on the name. i was at mariano’s a few weeks ago on a mission to stock my fridge with GF pizza because i’m lazy af and rarely cook anything unless it came from my freezer and i just need to throw it in the oven. i came across this in the freezer section mostly because about 75% of the pizza section is this caulipower brand. conclusion: it did not disappoint!!!! this tastes just like regular GF crust despite it being made completely of cauliflower AND you’re pretty much just eating vegetables (with cheese) so it’s healthy, right?!?!?!?! RIGHT.

now onto dessert things. i swear these tate’s cookies are NO F*CKING JOKE Y’ALL. they are so good i don’t even know how to talk about it without shedding a couple tears. y’all have no idea how much i miss just being able to throw nestle tollhouse *cue friends scene when monica and phoebe try recreating the nestle cookie recipe* chocolate chip cookies in the oven and enjoying them while laying on the couch. these cookies taste exactly like if you almost burnt nestle cookies so they’re crisp af without them actually being burnt. sorry not sorry if that didn’t make sense because it does in my head LOL. gluten-free or not, these cookies are LEGIT.

this one is for all my fellow gluten-free and dairy-free people. so delicious is really out here making all my 8:00pm ice cream dreams come true. i’ve tried their coconut milk ice creams and didn’t love them. so when i saw these, i had a good feeling about the cashew milk because i had recently heard that mashed up cashews are really creamy. (#science) i may or may not have also shed a few tears upon trying this ice cream. i almost devoured the whole pint in one sitting. now i can enjoy ice cream without taking a dairy pill and i’m also getting a good serving of cashews so that basically means this ice cream is healthy, right?! this rationale is gonna get me in trouble one day hahahaha.

and finally, i’m proud to share with y’all this GF beer option for all the GF people out there who are tired of drinking ciders and just want some d*mn regular beer. i’m personally not a cider person, and had thought that i had to kiss my beer dreams goodbye (like legit i cry a little every time i think about how i can never drink a blue moon again. i’ll never forget you delicious orange beer!!!!!!) BUT when my brother-in-law bought the glutenberg IPA for me to try last year, my heart and soul never looked back. these taste just like normal blonde ales and IPAs but without that heavy af feeling. i would just like to thank binny’s for carrying this brand so i can always enjoy some delicious GF beer.

the GF life isn’t easy, which is why i’m on a mission to find all the best options in hopes of experiencing less food/drink FOMO. i’m happy to share these recommendations because i know that having any food intolerances/allergies can feel isolating BUT focusing on what i’m able to eat and enjoy like the rest of the world is helpful. it can be easy to assume that gluten (or dairy) free means less flavor but these options prove that wrong. i hope everyone is enjoying their holiday szn so far! til next time friends!!!
