hibernation szn/the reason i’ve been MIA

happy hibernation szn!!!!!! aka the time of the year after the holidays when you refuse to leave the house so you can snuggle up on the couch in a blanket burrito, only leave for food and drinks, and become bffs with the grubhub delivery person until spring. (or is that just me?) if you’re anything like me, this means blankets and comfy sweaters and wine and tacos. yes, i’m fully aware that i haven’t posted since the end of december. one of my new year’s resolutions was actually to be more consistent with my blog and even though it’s already mid february, i still have 10 more months to get my sh*t together, right?!

anyway, i became deathly ill with the flu literally right after christmas (plus aunt flo decided to arrive the same day) and was sick from then through all of january. it’s the longest i’ve been sick in prob forever. so first it was the flu which turned into bronchitis which meant i was home in my pajamas all day errday watching endless hours of my tv boyfriend guy fieri on the food network because i love me some diners drive ins and dives reruns. i literally watched so many hours of the food network/cooking channel during this time that i lost track.

i’ve also watched many other movies/shows that weren’t exclusively food-related not just during my flu epidemic, but also throughout the last several months, that are perfect for hibernation szn. y’all better get your snacks and wine ready because these will keep you busy and make you question whether or not you’ll ever get off the couch again!!!!

cheer (netlix) – need i say more????????? we all need our own personal jerry

to all the boys 1 & 2 (netflix) – the first one is iconic but the second one…love triangles give me HELLA anxiety y’all

miss americana (netflix) – i thought i loved t swizzle but this took my love to all new heights and levels

reputation tour (netflix) – i saw her in concert may 2018 and it was epic, this made me relive it in the best way possible

homecoming (netflix) – BEYONCE. BEYCHELLA. NEED I SAY MORE.

someone great (netflix) – i was really worried that this was going to be another girl-gets-back-together-with-lousy-guy movie but……..let’s just say i ended up really enjoying it, you just need to watch for yourself!

stranger things (netflix) – this season was LIT and steve is still my fav person ever

merry happy whatever (netflix) – ok so i know it’s not christmas anymore but oh my god this show gave me so much life, everyone needs to watch it. also ashley tisdale’s character is everything

dollface (hulu) – i haven’t watched anything with brenda song since the suite life of zack & cody, but her character is literally my hero…oh and everyone and everything else in this show is goals

the mindy project (hulu) – long story short, i watched friends every morning while eating breakfast to get my mind in a good place before work, but since it was taken off of netflix, i needed a new show. let’s just say the mindy project might even be better than friends for my morning vibes and has me like crying laughing

booksmart (hulu) – ONE OF MY TOP FAV MOVIES EVERRRRRRRRRRRR

all marvel/avengers movies errythang (netflix & disney +) – i love them all but my go to favs are avengers infinity war & endgame, ant man, thor ragnarok, guardians of the galaxy vol II shout out baby groot, captain marvel, and dr. strange. if these movies don’t keep you busy idk what will

marvel’s the runaways (disney +) – i started watching this because the main character who was also in netflix’s santa girl is cute af and tbh the show isn’t the greatest but like i can’t stop watching???????? it only has 3 seasons so why not just watch it am i right

the mandalorian (disney +) – obvi if you like star wars things plus pedro pascal’s voice is hawt and last but certainly not least BABY YODA DUH

high school musical: the musical (disney +) – for the people who like cheesy a*s sh*t AND loved high school musical, this one’s for you

noelle (disney +) – again, i know it’s not christmas anymore, but this was one of the best christmas movies i’ve ever seen. i never knew that a christmas movie with anna kendrick was missing in my life. her one liners are second to none. i watched this right before i contracted influenza and it truly made my christmas that much better

all joking aside, it’s important to still leave the house and live your life in between couch potato sessions. i’m just saying that it’s cold af out and we’re at that point when we’re never sure when we’re going to see the sun again (but shout out to my light therapy lamp – if you haven’t seen my post on how magical these are for the winter blues, check it out!) and our windshield wipers are full of ice and the snow is turning into a collective mass of gray questionable slush. this is what comfy blankets were made for, right?! ok that’s it i’m done for today, happy sunday!
