skincare thingz

happy sunday world! i made the mistake of going to the grocery store earlier which was a mistake because 1. it’s the weekend before thanksgiving so literally everyone is also grocery shopping and 2. i was hangry and impatient. but i survived!!! today i’m going to discuss some recent skincare-related discoveries i’ve made that have definitely changed the game for the better. did y’all know that colourpop has a skincare brand called fourth ray beauty?! well if you don’t know, now you know. without further ado, here’s the scoop on what i’ve been loving the last few months.

1- colourpop/fourth ray glisten up face mist. i was never really one for a face spray unless it’s to set my makeup but i had heard this face spray was magic for the face. i recently was researching how wonderful vitamin c is for the skin and the brightening effects it has on the face. i apply this after i wash my face and moisturize and it’s literally life-changing. not only is it super moisturizing, but it instantly brightens the skin and adds a healthy glow.

with winter coming up this is the perfect remedy to the inevitable lack of sun because it’ll have you glowing and smelling citrusy af. the spray is kinda intense so a few sprays will leave you refreshed and hydrated. it takes a couple minutes to completely dry down, and once it does, the skin feels plump. *i never really noticed how awkward the word plump is LOL.*

2- colourpop/fourth ray beauty rose quartz face roller. similar to the face mist, i was never one to believe in fancy skincare tools, but i had been hearing more and more about the benefits of face rollers for brightening and soothing the skin. there’s also some other research that says it helps puffiness and wrinkles etc etc etc. i definitely wanted to try one but didn’t want to be bougie and spend a bunch of money on one.

here’s where colourpop is, and always will be, the real MVP. this face roller is like half of the price of the ones i was perusing on the sephora website. and the best part is, it’s legit. you’re paying an affordable price for a wonderful tool. i use this every night before bed after i wash my face and moisturize and i noticed a difference just a couple of nights after i started using it. it’s now become an essential part of my nighttime routine, and tbh, my favorite part. it’s relaxing and not to mention, rose quartz symbolize self-love and i could always use a little of that at the end of the day!

3- neutrogena makeup wipe singles aka individually wrapped makeup wipes that are extremely convenient for on-the-go and travel purposes. now you might be wondering why this is such a big deal to have made it to this post. i’ve been using the neutrogena liquid makeup remover for years now and it’s a tried and true. for days i’m wearing a full face of makeup, i prefer to use the makeup wipes. they come in those pouches that resemble tissue boxes which is cool and all but i’ve noticed that they can dry out pretty quickly.

which brings me to my next and most important point!!!!!!! because these are individually wrapped and live in these little sealed pouches, their liquid is better preserved and the wipe is much more saturated aka easier for makeup removing purposes. i didn’t realize that these are essentially better than the regular large pouch wipes until i used one and felt a total difference in how i was able to take off my makeup. when you’ve had a few (or several) drinks on a saturday night and you’re just trying to take your makeup off, you need the wipe to do its job. the only downside for me personally is that these little pouches can be a b*tch to rip open sometimes but it’s worth it. i’ve decided to only use these singles from now on and really i think my quality of life is better because of that.

i hope y’all enjoyed this post as much as i’ve been enjoying the products discussed! as always, thanks to everyone who takes their time to support me. i’m wishing everyone an amazing thanksgiving filled with lots of food and love and wine and more wine. the holidays are about to be in full effect!!! *cue endless hallmark christmas movies and listening to ariana grande christmas & chill on repeat*
